Review

This review applies to version 2.1 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

In Galapago 2.1 you must save the island´s creatures before the volcano erupts.

If you played Bejewelled, you´re familiar with the line of the game. You must change the creatures position on the board in order to form chains of three or more identical creatures. When you succeed in it, the chain will disappear, and the empty space it leaves become occupied for new creatures.

Some times, by simply changing the position of a creature, you will trigger a chain reaction, with chains being formed one after another. You will be awarded with points for doing so. You must do matches over the golden tiles to go to the next level.

There is a character on the upper left corner that gives you advice about the game, and laughs when you score big points.

There are some special items, like the shuffler. You can eliminate lots of chains using it.

When you ran out of time, you lose a life, and then you need to begin again.

You can play Galapago in Timed Mode or Relaxed Mode (Untimed).
Advantages
  • Galapago 2.1 has nice graphics, sound effects and music. It´s very addictive.
Disadvantages
  • The idea is not very original, there are lots of games out there made over the same basic theme.
